Spring Archery at Grimmsfield

My good and noble friends of the bow,
As the days get longer and we can see daylight savings time on the horizon, it is time to post the new Grimmsfield/Stierbach/ Ponte Alto schedule for the spring season:
For Grimmsfield A&S:
3/2/20 will be the final A&S of the season
For Stierbach/ Ponte Alto Indoor practice at Bull Run:
We will continue through the end of march to give everyone a chance to finish the indoor shoots.
Practice on 2/28/20, 3/6/20, 3/13/20, 3/27/20
Grimmsfield Monday practices will start on 3/16/20 (not the 9th because I am busy) and run on Monday nights till daylight savings ends.
In order to help us get ready for the summer season, This Sunday will be a range prep/archery practice. I plan on starting around 1:00 p.m. and spending a hour or so getting the range ready for the summer season. After that the range will be open for shooting till dusk. I plan on making a stew to help keep our energy up and will welcome all side dishes /snacks/ desserts. For more information and directions please see www.grimmsfield.org. Hope to see you all there and welcome to spring!
Your servant,
Grimm

Stierbach/ Ponte Alto Winter Practice

My good and noble friends of the bow:

The schedule for the Stierbach/ Ponte Alto archery practice needs to be updated. Due to a change in the Bull Run Festival of lights schedule, we will have one more Sunday practice before returning to Friday nights. This will be held on 1/5/20 from 10 to 12. Our next practice after that will be held on Friday 1/10/20 from 5 to 7. Sorry for the confusion. See you on the range.

Your servant,

Grimm

Stierbach/ Ponte Alto Winter Practice

My good and noble friends of the bow:

Starting next week, Bull Run Shooting Center will be closing early on weekdays for the Festival of Lights Show. Because of this, Stierbach/Ponte Alto archery practice on Fridays will be cancelled. The last Friday practice is 11/22/19 and the next one will be on 1/10/20. I am hoping to move practices to Sundays at Bull Run from 10 a.m. to 12 for the month of December, but I will need a marshal to take the lead for each practice.  Sunday practices will be on 12/1/19, 12/8/19, 12/15/19, 12/22/19, and 12/29/19. There are usually several marshals there, but I would like to have at least one commit to being there to head the practice. If no one can commit to running the practice, I am afraid I will have to cancel it. (please note, this is a public range and if no marshal is present, you may still shoot, there is just no official SCA presence) If you can commit to one of these practices, please let me know at grimm@grimmsfield.com. I will post updates as to the practices covered and the days still needing coverage.  Thank you in advance for taking a shift and I will see you on the range.

Your servant,

Grimm

IKAC archery on Sunday!

My good and noble friends of the bow,
Several archers have approached me about getting in a few final shots at improving our standings in the IKAC. Knowing how much this means to our archery community and our kingdom, I readily agreed to open Grimmsfield for this noble purpose! So, archery at Grimmsfield on Sunday from 2 pm till dusk. For those who want dinner, we can go to dinner after practice and celebrate our wonderful shooting! I will be working on my scores as well, so no stew this practice. That being said, snacks and beverages we can warm over the fire will be welcome! For more information and directions, please see www.grimmsfield.org. Looking forward to shooting with you. Your servant, Grimm
P.S. if you want to shoot for scores at any other time this weekend, let me know and I will see if I can make it work. Grimm

Special Friday Archery!

My good and noble friends of the bow:

Lady Celestria Alexandre d'Amiens came to me with a problem the other night. It seems that she has been working so hard on making archery at Stierbach Baronial Birthday the finest anyone has ever seen that she has not had enough time to practice for the upcoming Royal Archery Tournament. She begged to be allowed to use Grimmsfield on Friday September 13th, 2019 to hone her already considerable skills for the tournament the next day. In her generosity, she requested to be allowed to open the range to all for the same warm up opportunities. To this splendid request did I agree wholeheartedly! Therefore, Lady Celestria Alexandre d'Amiens (Alex) will open Grimmsfield from 5 p.m. till dusk for an open archery practice. There will be no potluck, but snacks are always welcome. For more information and directions, see www.grimmsfield.org

Memorial Day Archery

My good and noble friends of the bow:

Many have asked me if Grimmsfield might be closed this Monday because of the holiday. Thinking I might want a break from you archer types. Nothing could be further from my mind! In fact, I thought of opening a little earlier and having a potluck as well. Archery will begin at 2 instead of 5 and will still run till dark. I will be making a smoked brisket. The rest of the feast is up to you! For more information and directions please see www.grimmsfield.org and to RSVP (helpful but not required) send to grimm@grimmsfield.com Thank you all and see you there!

New Years Day Archery

My Good and noble friends of the bow.
A wise man once told me that if you start the new year off doing something that you love, it will set the tone for the rest of the year. I have always tried to follow this advice and to help others follow it, we at Grimmsfield will be hosting an archery practice and potluck on the first of the new year. This has become an annual tradition that I would love to see continue. The festivities will commence at 2 p.m. and go till it is too dark to see! Because we are archers, and this is Atlantia, this will occur regardless of the weather! I will be serving stew and will never turn away side dishes and munchies for the hungry masses. For directions please see www.grimmsfield.org Hope to see you there!
